CAT is a political cum crime thriller set against the backdrop of Punjab. The nexus between the politician and the drug mafia is the core plot. The story revolves around Gurnam, a Sikh boy who spent his teenage in the disturbed Punjab of the 90s. After his parents were killed by the militants, he worked as an unofficial police informer for the cop Sehtab Singh. He then worked as a motor mechanic and lived a simple life with his brother Sunny. Later Sunny got involved in a drug-peddling case. To save his brother, he went back to Sehtab Singh for help. In return Sehtab Singh wanted him to get back on the job of CAT as an undercover agent to take down the biggest drug syndicate in Punjab.
