KATHMANDU CONNECTION (season 2) - V View Reviews #100

Inspired by the true story of the 1999 IC 814 hijack, Kathmandu Connection is built on a fictional setup. This theme is used countless times in different series and movies but it still manages to engage the audience with tight storytelling techniques. The first season was inspired by the 1993 Mumbai blast and this season picks up 5 years after the events of the preceding season. One needs to see season 1 to watch the 2nd season for a better understanding of the plot.
Aksha Pardasani as Shivani Bhatnagar is now working for a London-based media house. One day she gets a document regarding the national security threat. She decides to crack down the dangerous conspiracy and finally lands up in Kathmandu following the lead. Anshuman Pushkar as Sunny Sharma is in jail.  Shivani Bhatnagar contacts him and wants him to help her to uncover the conspiracy.  With his help Shivani reaches Kathmandu. Sunny too manages to flee from jail and reaches Kathmandu. Then we have another main character Amit Sial as Samarth Kaushik who was discharged from duties in season  1. He lost his honor and respect. This season he works hard to clear his tarnished image. He starts the investigation at his own level and teams up with his loyal assistant Shravan Mishra role played by Anurag Arora. This team too reaches Kathmandu. Meanwhile, the Indian intelligence team also reaches there to check the possible threat to the nation. How can a story be complete without the antagonist? Here it is the Wazid role played by Prashant Narayan who wants to sour the relationship between India and Pakistan by planting bombs in the vicinity of Indo Pakistan meet at Agra. What happens there and how it happens to need to be watched in 6 gripping episodes. This series will remind the audience of the 'The Family Man' Hindi web series. Kathmandu Connection is an action crime thriller that keeps the audience engaged with crisp editing, impactful music, and brilliant performance of the actors. The lead actors Amit Sial, Aksha Pardasany, Anshuman Pushkar, Prashant Narayana, Gopal Dutt, Anurag Arora, Harleen Shetty, and Umar Sharif were convincing in the role assigned. The song 'Syahi Syahi ho rahi hai' is the highlight of the show. The role reversal of the protagonist and the antagonist is noteworthy. The last few scenes show the replica of the Parliament hinting at the next season. The plotline is predictable as the audience knows the history, yet with the twists and turns, this web series manages to keep the audience on their seat is praiseworthy.  Directed by Sachin Pathak, Kathmandu Connection is streaming on Sony LIV.
