MAIN HERO BOL RAHA HOON - V View Reviews #14

The story is set up in 80s and 90s,when the nexus between the Mafia and Bollywood echoed in most of the newspapers. Those news bulletins are the main ingredients of this series, 'Main Hero Bol Raha Hoon'.
It's a story of love, romance, action, drama, gangwar, revenge, extortion, murder, under world crime, dodging the police etc.. something not new for the viewers. It's a typical Bombay saga where an ordinary guy  beats all odds and becomes the new king of the city.
The plot of the series is a tale of a boy, Nawab alias Hero (Parth Samthan) and his journey with a bag full of dreams. He initially joins the business of his uncle and start selling pirated CDs. He then switched  to the business of cable TV, which was very popular in the 90s. He then enters the group of local Mafia with an extraordinary dream to rule Bombay. The real issues starts when he falls for an actress named Laila. The head of the gang Lala also loves her. This love triangle has an impact on the equation of their relationship and business. It is followed by a series of action .
No doubt the hero of this series is Parth Samthan but the main highlight is Arslon Goni in the role of Lala , the dreaded gangster. Ankit Gupta has also done a brilliant job as police cop Sachin Kadam. Patralekha is awesome and shines as always in the female role. The rest of the cast was decent with the performance.
The content and the language is not family friendly. The editing could have been better. The action sequences looked very artificial. The thrill and mystery was missing. Yet the story line laid the scope for season 2. Too many series these days with a drop of the 90s is monotonous where the viewers are bound to compare , therefore these shortcomings are obvious.
It is  streaming on Zee5 AltBalaji.
