City Of Dreams directed by Nagesh Kuknoor is based on the politics of Maharashtra. There is a failed assassination attempt on one of Mumbai's most influential and veteran politicians Amey Rao Gaikaward. This leads to a rift between his two children for taking over his position and the deep-rooted quarrel within the Gaikwad family comes to the surface. Season 1 deals with the brother-sister shrewd battle for politics. Ashish, the son of Gaikwad is a spoilt brat and a drug addict. He has no wisdom to handle politics. But, he considers himself a natural successor as he is a son. On another hand, Poornima who is intelligent and fair is more deserving but she needs to prove her worth. The plot line of each story is different but the inspector Shekhawat who unravel the murder mystery is common, thus tying them all in a single set. It's a gripping crime thriller with a murder mystery and deceit. The characters are exceptionally portrayed.
