FEELS LIKE ISHQ - V View Reviews #28
Feels Like Ishq is a simple tale of love stories at the unlikeliest of places. It has six different stories of around 30 minutes each. It explores various shades of love and affection. It's heartwarming, mature, unique and refreshing. The young audience is targeted, therefore most of the settings are modern. Stories are meant to be light-hearted view at romance and are centred around couples that explores love and relationship.
The directors of these six stories are as follows
RuchirArun-The Da(y)te
Tahira Kashyap Khurrana-Quarantine Crush
Anand Tiwari- Star Host
Danish Aslam- She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not
Jay Deep Sarkar- Ishq Mastana
Sachin Kundalkar-The Interview
Save the Da(y)te is the story of a runaway bride's best friend and a wedding planner who forms an unlikely bond. In the process, they discuss love and relationship.
Quarantine Crush explores the romance of school-going, boy Maninder in Chandigarh. He likes Nimmi, who has temporarily moved into the next door to quarantine. It is a teenage crush that makes this episode quite endearing.
Star Host is about Aditya who puts up his Mahabaleshwar home for rent so that he can save enough to go and see the Northern lights. Tara is the first guest. After few moments of awkwardness, an affectionate bond develops between the two.
She Loves Me She Loves Me Not is a lovely queer romance of a woman with her colleague but she is unsure of revealing it to her.
The Interview is about Shahana and Rajeev who finds each other in an interview for a salesman position at an electronic store in Mumbai. She is self-assured whereas he lacks confidence. They both get friendly and chat over tea and Samosa while waiting to give the interview and the story develops.
Ishq Mastana is a story of two activists with different personalities who fall in love during a protest.
It's the superb performance of the actors that is the highlight of the predictable storyline. The casts are Radhika Madan, Amol Parashar, Kajol Chugh, MahirAhuja, Simran Jehani, Rohit Saraf, Saba Azad, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Zayn Marie Khan, Neeraj Madhav, Tanya Maniktala and Skand Thakur. But, due to the time limit, the plots and the characters are underdeveloped. Portraying six couples from different cities and background is essenced with a common flavour...that is the first flush of attraction.
This anthology is available on Netflix from 23rd July.
