JEET KI ZID - V View Reviews #27

Jeet ki zid is an inspirational story on Zee5. It is about Deependra Singh Sengar, who participated in the Kargil war. Much has been said and written about this war... the result is the Golden history every Indian would like to cherish. The contribution of our army, medals, praises well-deserved respect are beautifully captured in various plots of stories. But, there is the other side of the coin too. The personal loss. The valour, the strength, that one needs to show on the individual level after being handicapped is the storyline of Jeet ki zid. Never say die attitude has been proved. The spirit to bounce back needs our salute since the plot is based on true events.
The narrative revolves around Deep's journey during different timelines. His childhood, the loss of his brother, getting into the army, going through very very tough training and finally the Kargil war. During a deadly mission in the Kargil war, he was left paralysed waist down. He begins to live a civilian life, but dependency and helplessness were too much for him to bear. Here comes the role of his wife, who inspires Deep to bounce back and finally he becomes a successful professional in the corporate world. He wins the battle on the personal front too. The story covers a wide range of emotions.
The interview of the real people narrating the story at the end of each episode is like a signature of truth. No foul language, no obscene..a truly patriotic and a motivational tale.
Army scenes were impressive but the script falls short in the civilian dominated scenes. Overall this series has managed to live up to the audience's expectations. Actors justified their roles. It stars Amit Sadh, Amrita Puri, Sushant Singh, Mrinal Kulkarni, Paritosh Sand, Aly Goni and others. It can be watched again on the eve of independence on Zee5.
