KOTA FACTORY - V View Reviews #38

From wherever the audience may watch this series Kota factory, they are instantly transported to Kota in Rajasthan, the city of coaching centres, while watching this series. It's the hub of IIT JEE aspirants and attracts teenagers from all over the country for its 'Mahol'- ambience. The plot is dedicated to the students whose prime focus in their life is to ' crack' the most challenging competitive exams in India.
After the glorious season 1 on TVF (youtube), this series is back with its season 2 on Netflix after a desperate wait by its audience. Though the tone of both seasons is similar, the first one is better. This series will remind the audience of the movie 'Three Idiots' and other series on similar topics like Aspirants, Lakhon Mei Ek, I M Mature etc.
Kota Factory is the first black and white Netflix web series of India. It glorifies the value of hard work and is amazing because it deals with the delicate subject in a mature manner. The simple problems of students, their joys, their sorrows, their anxiety, their routine are relatably addressed.
The central character is Vaibhav Pandey( Mayur More) and his close friends Uday Gupta(Alam Khan), Balmukund Meena (Ranjan Raj), Shivangi and Vartika. Their mentor and the guiding light in their life is Jeetu Bhaiya( Jitendra Kumar). The series focus prominently on Jeetu Bhaiya, the angelic figure to the kids and for the audience, he is the icing on the cake.
Their performance is very noteworthy and relatable. Jitendra Kumar who played the role of IIT mentor, in real life too he is an IITian, an alumni of IIT Kharagpur. The other actors are Mayur More, Ranjan Raj, Alam Khan Ahsaas Channa, Revathi Pillai, Sammer Saxena, Vaibhav Thakkar. They are perfectly cast. The creator of the show is Arunabh Kumar, Saurabh Khanna and Raghav Subbu.
The camera work is truly praiseworthy. The background music is too good as it expresses the depth of its character and its life-defining moments. The few dialogues are very catchy..' Peer pressure is a good thing but make sure that your peers aren't stupid'  and another one is' kids should not be dreaming but aiming for their goal'.
This series had a proper ending giving the note to the kids that they should understand that there is life beyond IIT exams.
Overall this series could be called an outstanding masterpiece. There is hope for another season as well. Season2 was premiered on September 24, 2021, and is streaming on Netflix.
