MATSYA KAAND - V View Reviews #42

There is no story without a hero and a villain. This time, in this series both is Ravi. The hero Ravi Dubey and the villain Ravi Kishan. Another interesting point is the cop is a gruesome villain and the conman is the hero.  The cat and the mouse chase between them is the thread binding all episodes though each episode has a stand-alone case. The series is a perfect blend of drama, entertainment, thrill, twists and turns with no dull moments. The whole series revolves around revenge and scam, nothing is new with the plotline, but the beauty lies in its presentation, drawing a parallel between the scenes from the Mahabharata and the current situation. All 11 episodes are inspired by the mythological characters of Mahabharata and keeping that in mind each episode is named. The twists and turns, friendships, emotions, guns and gangsters, planning and plotting, murders, lies, deceits are all weaved perfectly well for the viewers. The show also hints at season 2.

All the characters have done full justice to the role contributed. The key roles are played by actors Ravi Dubey, Ravi Kishan, Joya Afroz, Madhur Mittal, Rajesh Sharma, Naved Aslam. It's the effective performance of these actors that added Cherry to the cake. Ravi Dubey as Matsya is witty and wise, smart and young. Ravi Kishan is acceptable as Tejraj Singh, Piyush Mishra played Anand Pandit, the mentor of Matsya. Zoya Afroz is charming as Urvashi, the magician and Madhur Mittal is decent as Raju Rajeshwar. The chemistry between the actors is good. Shiv Singh's screenplay keeps the audience hooked. The production design by Saloni is good. Editing by Micky Sharma could have been better. Manojh Reddy aptly captured the actions in the real  location of Delhi, Meerut, Jaipur, Sambhar giving the audience an authentic feel. Directed by Ajay Bhuyen it's interesting to watch this engaging story on MX player.
