PUSHPAVALLI - V View Reviews #41
Pushpavalli, created by Sumukhi Suresh, stars her as a lead character. The entire show revolves around her stalking Nikhil Rao( Manish Anand). She shifted from Bhopal to Bangalore to pursue a guy she is in love with. She is lonely and crafty, extremely manipulative, insecure and self-involved. She is street smart, intelligent, funny and crazy. You can love her or hate her but can not ignore her. The best part of the story is that it portrays flawed women and throws light on typical social standards of beauty.
The strength of the series lies in its writing. It is fresh and insightful. The storyline is comical and romantic. It is edgy and engaging, interesting and annoying as well.
All actors are amazing and good in their given roles. The landlady Vasu (Shraddha) and her English language seasoned with Kannada is very hilarious and relatable. Swati is sweet, Manish Anand is smart. Navin Richard is also brilliant, Betu Boi is cute and even smaller characters have their significance in the story and keep it flowing. The series flavour of humour reminds us of standup comedy, which these actors are known for. Language is the cocktail of Hindi, English and Kannada. The too much use of the word 'F' was annoying at times. Though the series appeared loud, overacted and irritating sometimes but is likeable as it is very relatable. The little titbits of life are presented very humorously and all the incidents are well-knit.
The original platform is Amazon prime video.
