BHAUKAAL S2 - V View Reviews #54

The story of `Bhaukaal' is inspired by true events and is based on the real-life of Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS Navneet Sikhera, who was promoted and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police in Muzzafarnagar. This series has taken the OTT platform with a bang in 2020. Season 2, Bhaukaal is the continuation of season 1 and picks up from where the first season ended. So watch season 1 before season 2. It's all about Mafia, gang war, kidnapping, murder, gun, greed, political exploitation, press, official pressure, violence, bloodshed, money, smuggling etc.
Mohit Raina plays the lead role of SSP Navneet Sikhera, the super cop. He is transferred to Muzzafarnagar, the crime capital of India. He wants to eradicate the gang lords in Uttar Pradesh and establish law,  order and peace. He wants the kids to pick up books instead of guns. He wants to clean the city from prevailing chaos and lawlessness to the peace capital of India. After finishing the Shaukeen gang that ruled the East UP in season 1, Navneet Shikhera shifts his focus on the second gang of the Deda brothers in the west. For the ten episodes, there is a cat and mouse chase with a grand climax worth watching.
This cannot be called a family show as many scenes are too explicit and the language is full of desi gaalis.
The directions, locations, dialogue delivery by actors, cinematography, acting, casting are all praiseworthy. Mohit Raina as Naveen Sikhera has nailed his role with a powerful performance as an IPS officer though he appeared bulky for cop character.  Abhimanyu Singh as Shaukeen, Bidita Bag as Nazneen, Sunny Hinduja as Farukh Qureshi, Late Major Bikramjeet Kanwal is excellent as Aslam Rana, Gulki Joshi as crime journalist Neha have fewer roles than the previous season, Rashmi Rajput as Pooja and Anil Dhawan have justified their role, big or small. Naveen's core encounter specialist team Bhaati by Digamber Prasad, Balram by Firoj Khan Vinod by Amit Singh, Maruti by Shiv Shankar Pandey,  Pawan by Rohan Verma helps IPS officer to achieve his mission of making the city crime-free. As Dedha brothers Pradeep Nagar as merciless Pintu and Siddhanth Kapoor as Chintu are convincing.
Since it is based on real-life Singham, it's heartwarming to see the ruthless villain Pinto Pahalwan being defeated. It connects with the audience easily in 10 episodes. It's streaming on MX player. For me it's 3.5/5.
